Galvanised Steel Tanks · West Midlands

Lined galvanised steel tanks across Warwickshire

Across rural Warwickshire, a farm that wants irrigation water by next season, or a yard that wants to reuse its roof water, often has no room or appetite for a big excavation. A bolted steel tank, galvanised and lined, puts the volume above ground in a matter of days.

Farms, stables and yards

The steady demand in the county is agricultural: growers in the south-west of the county, towards the Vale of Evesham, who irrigate through the summer, livestock units that need wash-down water, and equestrian centres that water arenas and yards. Along the A5 and M6 in the north, transport and logistics yards collect rainwater from large roofs for vehicle washing.

On many of these sites the ground is clay, and putting a store below ground would mean a lined excavation. A steel tank avoids the dig altogether, and the farm keeps the land around it usable. When the business changes, a bolted shell can come down again, which a concrete or buried store cannot easily do.

  • Summer irrigation storage for growers
  • Wash-down water for livestock and haulage yards
  • Arena and yard water for equestrian centres
  • Rainwater harvesting from large sheds

Base, shell and liner

A farm builder or your groundworker pours the pad, designed for the tank brim-full. We mark the ring out on it and check its level first. The panels are galvanised, and each course is bolted to the one below until the shell reaches its design height. A liner shaped to the tank is then hung inside. It does all of the watertight work alone, leaving the steel to carry only the load.

On a farm, that split matters. Galvanised steel stands up well to weather, and because the water never touches the bolts, a joint that loosens slightly over years doesn't become a leak.

Pipework and the staged fill

We fit the fill connection, the draw-off, the overflow and any gauge, each sealed where it passes the liner. The tank is then filled in steps, and at each step we look at the liner, the fittings and the shell, before handing it over for use.

Rural access

Panels travel flat and in manageable sizes, which helps on a farm reached by narrow lanes. We agree the delivery vehicle and set-down area before the day. If the tank may later need to be extended or moved to another part of the holding, say so at the start; bolted construction allows for it when specified.

Siting is part of the same conversation, and on a mixed farm it is rarely obvious. Close to the yard suits wash-down; close to the fields suits irrigation. A tank close to the buildings it serves cuts pipe runs, but it also needs clear ground around it for delivery and assembly. We give capacity and siting guidance at the start, so the base goes in the right place first time.

Frequently asked questions

Warwickshire jobs vary from small yard stores to tanks holding thousands of cubic metres for irrigation. You tell us the volume the farm or yard needs and we build to it.

If the base is ready in time, very likely. Assembly to commissioning takes days, so the base is usually what sets the date.

The internal liner carries the water and the bolts never see it. The galvanised shell only provides the structure.
