Attenuation tank installation across Warwickshire

Warwickshire's development is spread out: housing on the edges of its market towns, logistics on the A5 and M6 in the north, and small rural schemes in between. We install attenuation tanks across the county, to your engineer's design.

Market towns growing outwards

Rugby, Warwick, Leamington, Stratford, Nuneaton and the smaller towns have all grown on their edges, and those new estates need surface water storage. Greenfield land on the edge of a town still loses its natural drainage the moment roofs and roads go down, so the planning condition usually limits discharge to what the field would have run off before.

On these schemes the attenuation is often a mix of an open basin and a crate tank under the roads or open space. We install the crate tanks and can line the basin too, so the storage on the whole estate is built and documented to one standard.

The Avon and its tributaries

Most of Warwickshire drains to the Avon, through the Leam, the Sowe, the Arrow and a network of smaller brooks. The Avon and the Leam run through Warwick, Leamington and Stratford, and much of the low ground beside them is floodplain. New development upstream adds to what those towns receive, which is why discharge limits are taken seriously across the county.

Large parts of the county sit on clays and mudstones that drain slowly. Where the engineer's infiltration tests come back poor, a sealed tank is the usual answer.

In the south of the county, around Stratford and towards the Cotswold edge, the clays give way in places to limestone, and some sites can soak water away after all. The engineer's tests settle it either way. Where a site needs infiltration, we install soakaway crates as well, wrapped in geotextile rather than membrane.

Logistics in the north, rural schemes in the south

The north of the county, along the A5 and the M6, carries large distribution and industrial buildings with big yards. These need large tanks built to highway loading. Further south, the work tends to be smaller: farm diversification, barn conversions, village housing and rural business units, where a modest tank sits under a drive or a parking area.

  • Large tanks under yards on logistics sites near the A5 and M6
  • Estate tanks on market-town housing schemes
  • Small tanks on rural and village developments
  • Crate tanks and lined basins on the same scheme

From our Tamworth base

North Warwickshire is right next door to our Tamworth base, and the rest of the county is a short drive down the M42 and M40 or across on the A5. On a rural site with narrow lanes, we plan the delivery size and the drop point with you before the day, so the crates and membrane arrive where they can be handled.

Frequently asked questions

Yes, with some planning. We agree the vehicle size and drop point before the day, so the crates and membrane arrive somewhere they can be unloaded and moved to the excavation.

Yes. We install crate tanks and line ponds and basins. Doing both means one team, one welding standard and one set of QA records across the site's storage.

Yes. Sheds in the north of the county, near the A5 and M6, commonly have big tanks beneath the service yard. The drawings fix the volume, the cell arrangement and the load rating, and we follow them.

Yes. A tank under a farmyard drive gets the same heat-welded seams, the same recorded test weld and the same handover documentation as a large one. Building control asks the same questions whatever the size.
