What we did
Formation covered in NW100 geotextile (supplied by the client), then three rolls of 1mm Atarfil HDPE deployed across the pond and up the banks, welded panel to panel and sealed to the two headwalls.
The tricky bits
Headwalls are where pond liners leak. Each one was detailed separately so the liner seals to the concrete with no gaps, and every weld was pressure-tested, numbered and marked as passed on the membrane.
What we delivered
A tested, documented pond lining on one of the country's biggest infrastructure projects.
The liner
HDPE is the liner we recommend for large ponds and reservoirs, and for the toughest UV and chemical exposure. Three rolls of Atarfil were deployed over the NW100 underlay, which keeps the formation from working against the liner from below.
The panels were placed and seam-welded on site. The two headwalls were treated as separate details.
Sign-off
Seams and details were inspected and the weld test records completed before we left site. The lining was signed off in August 2026, handed over with the weld test records and documentation.
