Attenuation tank installer in Coventry

Coventry is growing outwards, with housing and employment land on the edges of the city and major infrastructure passing close by. We install geocellular attenuation tanks for all of it, from estate-road tanks to large blocks under yards.

Rivers that rise in the city

Coventry's own rivers are small. The Sherbourne runs through the centre, much of it in culvert, and the Sowe runs down the east side before both join the Avon south of the city. Rivers this size react fast to a downpour, and every new roof and road adds to the peak unless it is held back.

So new development here is normally required to limit what it discharges, and on the clays that underlie much of the area, soaking the water away is seldom practical. On most sites that leaves a sealed tank, filling during the storm and draining slowly afterwards to the sewer or the river.

Infrastructure work on our doorstep

We lined a pond on the HS2 route near Coventry in welded HDPE, detailed around concrete headwalls and tested seam by seam. Infrastructure clients expect weld records, inspection and documentation that will stand up to an audit, and we bring the same approach to every attenuation tank in the city.

That means calibrated welding equipment, heat-welded seams with no tape anywhere, a test weld made and recorded on the day, and a QA and handover pack that matches the drawings. Crates go in at 95–97% void, so nearly all the excavated volume becomes storage.

The sites around Coventry

Most Coventry tanks go into housing on the edges of the city or into industrial and distribution sites near the motorways and the airport. Housing tanks are usually under open space or estate roads. Industrial ones go under yards and car parks and are built to a highway loading class.

Whatever the site, responsibilities stay separate. Your drainage engineer owns the design and the sizing; your groundworker owns the dig, the formwork and the backfill. Our crew starts once the hole is formed: formation checked, fleece and membrane laid, crates assembled, connections made, work tested.

  • Estate tanks under open space and adoptable roads
  • Industrial and distribution yards built to highway loading
  • Lined ponds and basins, where the design calls for open storage
  • Supply and install, or install only

Getting to Coventry

From our Tamworth base, Coventry is a straightforward run down the M42 and M6, or across on the A5 for sites to the north of the city. That makes it easy to arrive as soon as the excavation is formed, keep the hole open no longer than it needs to be, and come back for a late connection when the pipework is ready.

Frequently asked questions

Yes. We lined a pond on the HS2 route near Coventry in 1mm HDPE, welded and tested seam by seam. Attenuation tanks in and around the city get the same welding and testing standard.

Yes. Some drainage designs combine a crate tank with an open basin or pond. We install and weld both, and the documentation covers each.

We check the formation before we start. If it is uneven, littered with spoil or in need of blinding, we tell you straight and agree what needs doing, rather than building a tank on a bad base.

Yes. We build to your drainage engineer's drawings: volume, footprint, loading class, inverts and connections. We don't design or size the tank.
